What's Alize?
It's variofunk with the best ingredients of hip hop, rock, jazz, reggae and pop that results in music for the mind, the body and the soul.

Alize consists of five guys that share a love for funky fresh music that knows no boundaries. Their common goal is to put ALIZE on the map and build on a future in popmusic.

In 2004 vocalist Max P and bassplayer Nick McGrath, who'd been high school buddies for years, decided to team up for the first time and form a new band. When they captured their first ideas they started shopping for fellow bandmembers.
First they met Dave who was practicly living in his guitar case at the time.

Soon drummer Randy Straube joined and with the addition of keyboardplayer Thijs Schrijnemakers the band was complete in January 2004.

After three month they took their material to the stage on a local talent gig 'De Buren Unplugged'.  The guys didn't even have a name for the band and quickly decided that ALIZE (Before you realize) would practicly say it all.  Little did they know that for many people it's not obvious how to pronounce that name and that it has no relation to the popular drink or the French chick.

In the meantime Alize has proven on several occasions that their material and performance are worthy of bigger things. But winning several band contests and even playing on the greatest festival (Pinkpop) doesn't automaticly bring the big break.

Most bandmembers are involved in many different things and projects but whenever they get together as ALIZE it's something special. Now they have to find some extra time for recording and producing their first album. It may be a slow process but it's beautiful and growing bigger every day.
